An Amsterdam building complex built back in 1925 in the city’s Amsterdam-Zuid area hides a memorable family home design. Dutch design studio DenOlderVleugels helped a family find the perfect Amsterdam apartment and design it for an open and modern family lifestyle. Dutch people are well-known for their preference for transparency and this admirable trait can be found throughout the 300 sqm apartment. If ever there was a couch that looked like a giant pillow, you can count me in. But, this one not only begs you to take a nap, there’s a version that’s covered in metallic silver fabric that looks like a giant space suit. And that, my friends, is pretty darn cool.

Made by Italian company Gervasoni, and designed by one of my faves—Paola Navone, the Nuvola collection features a sofa, loveseat and chair all following the same organic, overstuffed lines. Yet, as cushy as this collection looks, somehow it still feels tailored. Continue reading »
